Midnight Chef’s Table at the Yardbird Southern Table & Bar. Do you have the midnight nibbles? Try an alcoholic dinner late into the night. Yardbird Southern Table & Bar in Miami Beach is launching its Midnight Chef’s Table this week with a multi-course menu paired with bourbon from Angel’s Envy. The event, which takes place on Friday, begins with light bites and a cocktail reception at 10 p.m., followed by a family-style 4-course pairing dinner. Bartaco opens in Aventura. Bartaco, the New York-based taco restaurant, is about to take over South Florida. The chain opened its third Florida location in Aventura last week. The menu is divided into three main sections: tacos, no tacos, and bowls. Tacos include traditional dishes like Baja fish with chipotle coleslaw ($ 2.50), mojo pork carnitas ($ 2.50), and carne asada ($ 3.50), as well as non-traditional varieties like cauliflower ($ 2.50) , $ 50), swordfish ($ 3.50), and roast duck with tamarind glaze ($ 3.50). Items in the “no tacos” section include street corn fritters ($ 6), gazpacho ($ 5), and duck quesadilla ($ 7). Sunday brunch start at Tigertail + Mary. The James Beard Award-winning chef Michael Schwartz has opened Sunday brunch in his newest restaurant, Tigertail + Mary, in Coconut Grove. The highlights include polenta with mushrooms, boiled egg and roasted tomato sauce; Chilaquiles with an egg sunny side up, fried tortilla, guajillo salsa, red onions, and sour cream; and eggs benedict with duck confit, picliz (Haitian sauerkraut, carrots and peppers) and a truffle hollandaise sauce. In collaboration with BarLab, the restaurant will offer a “Bottled Bloody Mary” where guests can choose any spirit that goes with Santa Maria (a classic mix of tomatoes, harissa) or Niña (a juicy mix of carrots, mango and peppers) fits).
