PHILADELPHIA (AP) – The badass Ronald Torreyes delivered a groundbreaking two-run double in the eighth inning, and the Philadelphia Phillies rallied to beat the Miami Marlins 8-3 on Tuesday night.

In the Phillies’ first game since a game between manager Joe Girardi and infielder Jean Segura, the Marlins took a 3-1 lead when Jazz Chisholm Jr. hit a homer with two runs from a 100-mile fastball from Jose Alvarado in the lead The eighth. But the Phillies responded in the lower half against relievers Dylan Floro (2-2) and John Curtiss.

Phillies starter Zack Wheeler hit 10, allowing an inexperienced run and five hits in seven innings. Wheeler hit double-digit strikes for the tenth time in his career and for the second time this season.

Archie Bradley (1-1) fanned out the only blow he faced on his first appearance since April 10th to claim victory.

Marlin’s starter Cody Poteet threw five innings with three hits in his second career start, but Miami’s bullpen gave up eight runs in three innings.

Before the game, Girardi and Segura said they love each other and were eager to bank their recent arguments in the past.
