Phillies Rally With 7 Runs In 8th Inning To Beat Marlins 8-3 – CBS Miami
PHILADELPHIA (AP) – The badass Ronald Torreyes delivered a groundbreaking two-run double in the eighth inning, and the Philadelphia Phillies rallied to beat the Miami Marlins 8-3 on Tuesday night.
In the Phillies’ first game since a game between manager Joe Girardi and infielder Jean Segura, the Marlins took a 3-1 lead when Jazz Chisholm Jr. hit a homer with two runs from a 100-mile fastball from Jose Alvarado in the lead The eighth. But the Phillies responded in the lower half against relievers Dylan Floro (2-2) and John Curtiss.

Rhys Hoskins hit a sharp single with an out and Alec Bohm followed with an RBI double from the right field fence. Odubel Herrera grabbed an infield single and Andrew Knapp went to load the bases. Nick Maton fed an RBI single to tie it up.
Curtiss stepped in and Torreyes lined up first on the left field line in his first attack since April 17. Segura’s infield single knocked out in another run. Bryce Harper ripped a two-run single to finish the rally with seven runs.
Phillies starter Zack Wheeler hit 10, allowing an inexperienced run and five hits in seven innings. Wheeler hit double-digit strikes for the tenth time in his career and for the second time this season.
Archie Bradley (1-1) fanned out the only blow he faced on his first appearance since April 10th to claim victory.
Marlin’s starter Cody Poteet threw five innings with three hits in his second career start, but Miami’s bullpen gave up eight runs in three innings.
Before the game, Girardi and Segura said they love each other and were eager to bank their recent arguments in the past.

A fan jumped onto the field from the left field stands on top of the eighth, sprinted across the outfield and climbed into the seats on the right field line before safety caught him.
Another man ran into the field in the lower half of the inning. He marked the second base, escaped a security guard, tripped and was attacked.
Marlins: OF Lewis Brinson (left finger) was added to the list of 10-day casualties.
Phillies: SS Didi Gregorius (elbow) was placed on the 10-day list of injured and INF / OF Scott Kingery was placed on the 7-day list of concussions. … LHP JoJo Romero has to be operated on by Tommy John and was moved to the 60-day list of injured. … Torreyes was activated from the COVID-19 list and Bradley (page) returned from the injured list.
LHP Trevor Rogers (5-2, 1.84 ERA) starts for the Marlins and RHP Zach Eflin (2-2, 3.86) goes up the hill for the Phillies on Wednesday night.
