MIAMI (WSVN) – Rescue workers rushed a man to the hospital after he was hit by a driver who fled the scene, according to Miami police.

Miami City Police and Fire Department responded to the hit-and-run scene near Northwest 51st Street and Second Avenue shortly after 9 p.m. on Saturday.

First responders found the victim unresponsive after police said he was hit by a car.

Paramedics transported the injured pedestrian in critical condition to the Ryder Trauma Center.

Officials said a description of the affected vehicle is currently unknown as they continue their search for the driver.
