Locals and tourists alike will no doubt visit Joe’s Miami for its authentic New York pies. The facility has been in operation since its first location on Carmine Street opened in 1975. Joe’s is legendary for its thin crust patties, block-length lines and celebrity customers with photos on the walls. The chain now operates five locations across New York City as well as an outpost in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Joe Fernandez, managing director of DWNTWN Realty Advisors, who represented landlords Related Group and East End Capital, said the building’s central location and wide range of tenants had drawn them to the area, including the 289 apartments and retail space at Japanese restaurant Uchi . includes Miami, Salt & Straw, supported by Danny Meyer, Bartaco from Connecticut and Dogfish Head Miami.

“After a long search, Wynwood was most interested in Joe’s Pizza. The location is excellent – literally in the heart of Wynwood. Because there are lots of walking and to-go stores, mixed spaces, and a central location for delivery, they were a perfect fit, ”Fernandez told the New Times. “And with such a great successor up north, Joe’s will benefit greatly from the New York migration to Wynwood and the sizeable pipeline of new office and residential projects.”

Joe’s Pizza is just one of many New York-based restaurants that have selected Miami to expand since the pandemic began. Other restaurants include the NYC Square Pie spot Prince Street Pizza in the Oasis Food Court), the Italian restaurant Carbone in South Beach, the Korean steakhouse Cote in the Design District, and the upcoming Pastis, which will be a Wynwood neighbor.
