Miami-Dade Police Department Honors Fallen Law Enforcement Officers – CBS Miami

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Miami-Dade police took their time Thursday night to honor fallen police officers.

Dozens are killed by criminals across the country every year.

The Thursday evening event marked the 40th annual law enforcement officer memorial service.

It paid tribute to the 151 officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice in Miami-Dade County since 1865.

The ceremony, which took place in the tropical park, included the lighting of the commemorative torches by the chief official of each agency that has suffered casualties.
