Milwaukee lost its sixth straight and fell 5-0 in seven games on its road trip.

Trevor Rogers (4-2) gave up one run and four hits in five innings. The left-hander hit six and walked two. He bonded with three reliefs to retreat 14 consecutive batters until Adam Cimber met Avisail Garcia in his second inning of work to start the ninth.

Milwaukee starter Brent Suter (2-2) left with a cramp in his right calf after giving up Garrett Cooper’s single in the third. Patrick Weigel relieved Suter and went to Adam Duvall to load the bases before Diaz drove the first pitch in the right center over the wall to give Miami a 5-0 lead. It was Miami’s first Grand Slam since Jorge Alfaro faced the New York Mets on September 23, 2019.

Pablo Reyes’ runscoring single in fourth place got the Brewers on the scoreboard before the Marlins regained their five-run advantage on Jesus Aguilar’s RBI double in the lower inning.

Diaz had overturned a potential fifth RBI in the eighth after Duvall crossed the record to the middle on his single. The brewers successfully challenged catcher Jacob Nottingham to tag Duvall before hitting.
