Man Arrested For Shouting Anti-Semitic Threats At Father & Son In Miami Beach – CBS Miami

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – A man is in jail after Miami Beach police said he made anti-Semitic threats to people outside an ice cream parlor.

Police said Lamont Collins began yelling and threatening people in the Lincoln Road and Michigan Avenue area on Sunday.

A tweet from the Anti-Defamation League of Florida said: “Appalled that a Jewish man and his son faced #antisemitic threats on the 4th night of Hanukkah in Miami Beach.”

Collins left before the police arrived, but was found and arrested a few hours later.

When the officers searched his backpack, they found two hunting knives.

Collins is charged with carrying a hidden weapon, misconduct and non-violent resistance to arrest.

It is held on a $ 3,500 bond.

Prosecutors will review the case to see if it is also charged with a hate crime.
