Looking For A Deal? Florida Holding Unclaimed Property Auction In Miami On Saturday

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Are you looking for a deal this weekend? The state of Florida could potentially help. This is because unclaimed items given to the state are put up for auction.

Contestants can bid on diamonds, rare coins, and even vintage baseball cards.

It’s the first in-person, unclaimed real estate auction since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.

CFO Jimmy Patronis says they will sell any stuff left in lockers when the owner stops paying the bank fees and they have more than a billion dollars in unclaimed assets.

Until the funds are called, the funds will be used to support Florida public education.

The auction will take place on Saturday, May 22nd at 9:00 am at the Miami Airport Marriott in 1201 S. LeJeune Road Building A.

One in five Floridians has some kind of unclaimed property, according to Patronis, and more than a billion dollars in assets remain to be claimed.

Anyone who thinks they have unclaimed property or money can visit FLTreasureHunt.gov.
