LINCOLN EATERY OPENS SIMPLYGOODPIZZA | Miami’s Community News

South Beach’s first food hall unveiled

A new Pay it Forward Pizza Shop

Hopefully that will inspire people to do the right thing.

The Lincoln Restaurant, Miami Beach’s first modern food hall, announces the opening of SIMLYGOODPIZZA, A new pizza concept that aims to create a sense of community in Miami Beach by sourcing fresh ingredients from local farmers and suppliers and giving something back to those in need. Led by Max Pierre and Richard Fuentes, hospitality veterans who have worked extensively in the Miami food and beverage industry, the overarching goal of SIMPLYGOODPIZZA is to make a positive impact on social and environmental issues in the community through businesses by simply “doing the right thing”.

As minorities, Pierre and Fuentes founded SIMPLYGOODPIZZA with the intention of starting a social conversation about advocacy in business while serving a diverse selection of tasty cakes. The values of SIMPLYGOODPIZZA are rooted in the importance of community and giving back.

“As black and brown entrepreneurs, we recognize the social and environmental issues that have a negative impact on our community. We also understand the injustices and inequalities that our community faces on a daily basis, ”explained Max Pierre, co-owner of SIMPLYGOODPIZZA. “SIMPLYGOODPIZZA was created as a platform for the good to make a difference. A reminder to both locals and visitors to Miami that we have the power to make the changes we want to see in our communities. The harsh reality of George Floyde and COVID 19 forced us to realize we had to do something. We sincerely hope this program inspires others to do the right thing, even if it’s just cake at a time. ”

The owners Max Pierre and Richard Fuentes have worked in the Miami hospitality industry for years. When Max Pierre founded SIMPLYGOODMIAMI in Little River in 2018, his vision was to create an inviting and collaborative space that nurtures talent and cultured ideas as well as creative visions. He was able to capture the vibrant spirit and passionate creativity of the cultural community, which ultimately helped him have progressive and forward-thinking experiences. He later met Richard Fuentes, who was the head chef at Arlo’s Nautilus and shared the same values, goals and visions. With a culinary career giant, they decided to expand the SIMPLYGOOD concept by launching a pop-up at The Lincoln Eatery Food Hall.

“Bringing a little joy to local communities in need is the cornerstone of our culture,” said co-owner and chef Richard Fuentes. “Simple and good are the values we live by and we honor this by serving a menu of well-balanced cakes that are delicious, with a fantastic mix of punch sauce, sticky cheese, tasty meat and products from local farmers.”

The menu includes a selection of savory cakes that take a traditional approach to pizza, as well as unique flavors that pay homage to Miami. The highlights are Breakfast pizza (USD 15), a spicy cake with mozzarella, Gruyere, smoked bacon, spring onions, and an egg with the sunny side up. Other notable cakes are the Mushroom & Truffle ($ 15), served with mozzarella, Gruyere, Parmesan, cremini mushrooms, and truffle oil, and the Garden ($ 15), vegetable rocket, cherry tomatoes, mozzarella, and a flavored balsamic reduction. For dessert, try the Guava & Cheese Pizza ($ 8), a combination of guava peels, whipped cream, and pistachios.

The concept is slightly inspired by the Spike Lee movie “Do the Right Thing” and encourages those who dine there to pay it forward. With the purchase of an item on our menu, you have the opportunity to buy one $ 10 Pay It Forward Pie Special that is ultimately donated to local nonprofits, local organizations, or someone local who does the work in needy communities. In addition, SIMPLYGOODPIZZA plans to work with local organizations to coordinate pizza parties for families in need.

SIMPLYGOODPIZZA is open daily from noon to 8pm and is located in the Lincoln Eatery Food Hall. Stay up to date on SIMPLYGOODPIZZA by following @SimplyGoodPizza and @ LincolnEatery on Instagram. For more information, visit thelincolneatery.com.
