MIAMI (WSVN) – Days after a wing of a Surfside apartment building collapsed, officials from the city of Miami and at least two other cities in south Florida ordered immediate inspections of their older apartment buildings.

Miami officials said Saturday the ratings are for buildings with six and more stories that are 40 years old and older.

Officials are urging the associations to employ civil engineers immediately. You have 45 days to submit your results.

Meanwhile, Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava has directed all towns in the county to conduct similar audits.

The towns of Sunny Isles Beach and Hallandale Beach have already ordered similar inspections of their skyscrapers.
