The Heat played without Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro – a trio averaging 55 points per game – and beat Houston 59-36 after half-time.

“It’s our culture, guys who are ready to leave and guys who want to leave their mark on the game,” said Miami’s Andre Iguodala, who scored 16 points. “Tonight was one of those evenings when a lot of people left their mark.”

Iguodala played for 28 minutes and the heat beat the missiles by 38 points as he lay on the ground. It was the fourth-highest plus-minus of Iguodala’s career.

“Andre was great tonight,” said Heat coach Erik Spoelstra.

Miami (30-28) finished within 1 ½ games of No. 4 Atlanta and one game of No. 5 Boston and No. 6 New York in the Eastern Conference rankings.

Kevin Porter Jr. and Christian Wood each scored 18 points for the Rockets, who have lost 33 of their last 37 games. John Wall scored 14 for Houston.

“Our communication just wasn’t there in the second half,” said Wood.

The missiles were without Sterling Brown after the team said he was attacked by unknown attackers and sustained facial injuries the night before. The NBA said it was looking into the incident, and the Rockets said Brown, who agreed to a $ 750,000 deal last year after being shocked with a taser and during an encounter with police in Milwaukee that year Arrested in 2018 would recover.

“Maybe the emotion of the day caught up with us towards the end,” said Rockets coach Stephen Silas. “I think we looked tired towards the end of the game.”

Houston was leading 55-54 in half, and the third quarter turned everything for Miami. The Heat beat the Rockets 35:19, with Nunn and Robinson scooping 19 points and five 3-point points this quarter alone.

Woods 3-pointer with 6:26 left brought Houston in 15 minutes. Miami then made a 14-0 run to turn the game into an outlier.
