Have breakfast for dinner in the Arepitas Bar in Time Out Market Miami
Welcome to Food Envy, where we highlight some of the dishes from Time Out Market Miami that we think you will love – partly because we do. This week we’re singing the praises of Arepitas Bar in the Brooklyn Arepa for breakfast for dinner.
RECOMMENDED: Guide to Time Out Market Miami
Do you raise your hand if you enjoy having breakfast for dinner? All right Just as we predicted. There’s no reason why tasty things like bagels and eggs should be banned from morning meals. If it were up to us, our favorite morning meals would be available at any time of the day. Fortunately, with a little help from our friends at Arepitas Bar, we made it.
The menu of this Latin American eatery in Time Out Market Miami scores with all the dishes we look for in a Colombian restaurant and more. There are crispy empanadas, pan de bono, and the reinvented bowl-shaped Bandeja Paisa (which we use on most hangover days). But Brooklyn stole our hearts. Now available with two grilled arepas (you can eat them with a fork and knife or sandwich style), the arepa is a reinterpretation of a classic salmon bagel. It consists of whipped cream cheese, smoked salmon, capers and lots of fresh, aromatic dill.
The arepa is perfect for lunch or dinner. It is the dish we turn to when we skip breakfast but ask for it later in the day. For delicatessen purists, we are the first to say that a tough bagel is no match for the crispy exterior and tender interior of an arepa. It really is the perfect container for any topping. There is no challenge for us.
