Half Brothers Both Named Willie Floyd Singletary Arrested In Plymouth Township Police Standoff – CBS Philly
PLYMOUTH TOWNSHIP, PA (CBS) – There is new information on the police operation on Wednesday in Plymouth Township. Today a sign on the door of the house where the barricade situation took place says “stay outside”.
The police arrested two people here yesterday – two half-brothers charged with various crimes. But they have something in common, their name.
Police say these are the men who were arrested Wednesday in a tense six-hour barricade situation at the house in Plymouth Township.
This is 20-year-old Willie Floyd Singletary on the left and 29-year-old Willie Floyd Singletary on the right. They are half-brothers who have the same name.
“It sounds a little strange, but I’ve heard it before. But I still find it strange, ”said neighbor David Ryan.
According to police, a SWAT team first went home to issue a search warrant against the younger Singletary. He is now accused of conspiracy to commit an armed robbery for allegedly attacking and robbing gas stations.
His older half-brother is now charged with making terrorist threats after police alleged he barricaded himself in the house and allegedly told officials he would shoot them.
Court documents also show the elderly singletary told police he was “ready for war”.
Meanwhile, police say he was wanted in connection with a murder in Philadelphia.
“My brother is not a life prayer book, he has his problems,” Willie Floyd told Singletary.
This man is also Willie Floyd Singletary. He hasn’t been involved in any alleged crimes since Wednesday, but he appears to be the former Philadelphia traffic judge convicted in 2014 of lied to the FBI during a ticket fixing investigation.
He told Eyewitness News after the barricade on Wednesday that he has other brothers named Willie Singletary.
“I’m lucky my dad had 21 children and we’re all six Willie,” he said.
No one was injured during yesterday’s barricade situation in Plymouth Township. These two William Singletarys are incarcerated in the Montgomery County Jail.
