“Pterosaurs: Escape in the Age of the Dinosaurs” just opened at Frost Science in downtown Miami.

Pterosaurs: Escape in the Age of the Dinosaurs (CBS4)

“It’s an exhibition about pterosaurs, which are the largest flying vertebrates of all time. They flew about 150 million years ago and became extinct about 66 million years ago. They range in size from a sparrow to a wingspan of 33 feet, so they’re pretty impressive, ”explained a Frost Science expert.

He went on: “Pterosaurs are only just becoming known because of fossil finds. So as we find more fossils, we regularly find more and more different species. About 150 different species were known at the moment, but scientists believe there were thousands of different species. “

The exhibition, sponsored by Nicklaus Children’s Hospital and the American Museum of Natural History, runs through September 6th.
