Florida Panthers’ Anton Lundell is getting used to the Miami lifestyle, preparing for upcoming season – WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports
CORAL SPRINGS, FLA. (WSVN) – Florida Panthers development camp is officially underway.
He’s only been in North America for a few weeks, but the Florida Panthers’ newest contestant was a very busy teenager.
On the best way to join the Panthers in the coming season, the team’s top contender Anton Lundell is excited about the opportunity to play with the big boys and enjoy his new surroundings.
“It’s been really fun so far,” he said. “Every day you can go to the beach with shorts and a T-shirt on.”
For less than two weeks in town, the European young cat stud has already done something some of us still want to do – throw the ceremonial first litter at a marlin game.
“It was different,” said Lundell. “I was very nervous because I’ve never been to a baseball game and I have to throw the ball the first game, but it was so cool. I have had good experiences. ”
Lundell was selected from the Panthers 12th overall in the 2020 NHL Draft and is only 19 years old.
“I’m used to expectations and it has helped me a lot, it has prepared me very well so far and now it is time to take the next step,” he said.
Lundell has already been compared to Aleksander Barkov and can’t wait to share the ice cream with fellow countryman Fin.
“He’s a really good player, one of the best in the league and I think it will help me a lot to play on the same team with him and try to learn from him every day,” said Lundell.
Even 13 months before his 21st birthday, Lundell is grateful to have his Babyface assassin Spencer Knight to hang out.
“We go to play Playstation at Spencer’s house, but we’ll see. We’ll find out what’s fun, ”said Lundell.
