Final Tributes For Fallen FBI Agents Laura Schwartzenberger, Daniel Alfin This Weekend At Hard Rock Stadium – CBS Miami

SUNRISE (CBSMiami) – Plans are now in place for two memorial services for the FBI special agents who were killed in an ambush in Sunrise.

On Friday afternoon, Special Agent Laura Schwartzenberger, 43, visited the Kraeer funeral home in Pompano Beach. The view is closed to the public.

On the weekend there will be commemorations for Schwartzenberger and Special Agent Daniel Alfin, 36, in the Hard Rock Stadium.

Schwartzenberger will commemorate this Saturday at 2 p.m. Alfin will be honored on Sunday at 2 p.m. Both services are closed to the public.

Schwartzenberger and Alfin died early Tuesday when they were serving an arrest warrant at the Water Terrace Apartments in Sunrise. Three other agents were injured. The shooter, 55-year-old David Lee Huber, later killed himself.

Schwartzenberger leaves behind a man and two boys. Alfin leaves behind a spouse and child.

A GoFundMe was set up for the Schwartzenberger family. The original goal was set at $ 40,000. However, it was more than $ 80,000 on Thursday.

And a dinner fundraiser for the Alfin family raised nearly $ 30,000.

The FBI Agents Association Membership Assistance Fund has set up a GoFundMe page for the families of both agents. You have set yourself a goal of $ 500,000.

“Special Agents Schwartzenberger and Alfin have dedicated their careers to arresting criminals who sexually abuse children. These selfless warriors fought day after day to protect innocent children who cannot fight to protect themselves. Crimes against children are such a dark injury that most people are afraid to speak up and only the strongest of us can handle them, ”said Jesse Kranz, who organized the fundraiser.
