Aide For Miami Commissioner Joe Carollo Arrested For Drunk Driving After Crashing Into Boat – CBS Miami

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – An adviser to Miami Commissioner Joe Carollo was arrested Friday for drunk driving.

According to police, 22-year-old Tanjha Quintana hit the stern of a towed boat with her car.

The accident happened just before 10 a.m. on Friday at the intersection of Grand Avenue and Fuller Street in Miami.

According to the arrest report, she hit the boat so hard that the airbags in her car were deployed.

Commissioner Carollo released a statement on the incident early Friday night, some of which read:

“Today I learned that one of my office workers was involved in a car accident on the way to work. It was not until this afternoon that we understood what had happened and it was not until the media gave my office a copy of the police report that we understood the allegations against Ms. Quintana. First and foremost, I am glad that no one was seriously injured in the accident and I am deeply disappointed with the information I have. “
