3 Rushed To Area Hospitals Following Shooting At Aventura Mall – CBS Miami

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Aventura police said a fight between two groups of people resulted in three people being shot dead in the Aventura Mall on Saturday afternoon.

These three people suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to hospitals in the area, police said.

According to authorities, a total of five people had to be treated for injuries.

Filming took place around 4 p.m. near the Hugo Boss store in the mall on the 19500 block of Biscayne Blvd.

“We heard bang, bang, bang and they closed the doors. We are grateful that we are alive and glad our children weren’t here, ”said one shopper.

The police said they are looking for their main shooter and that they have several people in custody.

They also said that there was no active shooter in the mall.

Aventura police tweeted that they were handling an incident at the mall and that all patrons and employees would be taken away from the property.

Police said that access to the mall would not be allowed until further notice.

Police and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue units were seen at the mall as videos posted on social media showed shoppers storming out of stores.

Shoppers reported being trapped in stores in the mall.

Authorities told people to avoid the area. Nearby, the William Lehman Causeway has been closed to the west.
